Goldschmidt Australia uses the Trackscan USE-B ultrasonic device that is mounted on one rail and equipped with 9 probes. This innovative device significantly reduces the time required for traditional testing on turnouts. Operators no longer need to walk each leg a minimum of 5 times, contributing to quicker and safer rail operations.

With the Trackscan USE-B ultrasonic device, all legs of the rail can be tested in a single run. The device includes 1 x 0°, 3 x forward-facing 70°, 3 x rear-facing 70°, 1 x forward-facing 30°, and 1 x rear-facing 38° probes. 

In addition to ultrasonic services, Goldschmidt Australia also offers eddy current services throughout the country. We have two Trackscan Mira 80 devices with 8 probes each for eddy current testing. Eddy current is an ideal solution for asset owners who want to determine the optimal timing for grinding and milling before the rail deteriorates and requires re-railing. 

Both the Trackscan USE-B and the Trackscan Mira devices are developed and produced by Goldschmidt Group sister company, PLR Prὔftechnik Linke & Rὔhe who produce measurement devices for Deutsche Bahn and other railway companies globally.
